  SHAFFER
  
  Ruth V. Shaffer, 72, of Distant, died at 11:15 Friday morning in
  Clarion Osteopathic Community Hospital.  She was born in Virginia,
  Nov. 5, 1904, the daughter of the Rev. William and Pearl (Johnson)
  Minerd.  Her husband, Roy E. Shaffer, survives, as well as three
  daughters, six sons, 29 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. 
  Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Bailey of Oak Ridge,
  Mrs. John (Violet) Sanners of Rockwood, Mrs. Ethel Hetzer of
  Somerset, Mrs. Glenn (Bertha) Blubaugh of Lima, Ohio, Mrs. George
  (Esther) Vesek of Janners; and three brothers, Melvin of Rochester,
  N.Y., Paul of New Mexico, and Donald of Somerset.  A sister Nell is
  deceased.  Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Charles D.
  Alcorn Funeral Home of Hawthorn, Pa.
