  SHAFFER
  
  Mrs. Stella B. Shaffer, 90, of West Race Street, Somerset, died Oct.
  3, 1974, in Somerset Community Hospital.  Born June 8, 1884, in
  Allegheny County, a daughter of Timothy and Lulu (Long) Burgess. 
  Preceded in death by husband, Austin D.; son, Burgess; one brother
  and one sister.  Survived by a son, the Rev. Glen of Westerville,
  Ohio; five grandchildren:  six great-grandchildren.  She was a member
  of the First United Methodist Church in Somerset, where she served as
  organist for 50 years.  She was a member of the Somerset County
  Artists' Association.  Friends received after 7 p.m. Saturday in the
  Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home.  Services will be conducted Monday at
  1:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Somerset, the Rev.
  Donald Lash officiating.  Interment, Husband Cemetery.  Remains will
  lie in state at the church from 12:30 p.m. Monday until service time.
