Born Sept. 20, 1918 in Ralphton, Jenner Township. Son of Charles Alexander and Susan (Griffith) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers, Charles and Merlin Shaffer, and sister Eva Smith. Survived by daughter Mrs. Suzanne A. Vogan of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and great-nieces: Linda Veres of Friedens, Carla Smith of Stoystown and Kathy Brant of Greenville, S.C. A 1936 graduate of Somerset High School. World War II veteran of the US Army. Owned and operated Shaffer's Steak House in Meadville. No viewing or visitation. Private service at the convenience of family. Interment, Horner-Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Horner Mt.
