Born Aug. 20, 1895, in Bakersville, Somerset County, son of William and Matilda (Hemminger) Shaulis. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Marjorie Helen; brothers, Lloyd Lorenzo and E. Marcellus. Survived by widow, the former A. Alverta Zimmerman and these children: Conrad, married to the former Isabel Fern, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Ruth, wife of Ray L. Ritenour, Sarasota, Fla.; Ann Simpson, Somerset; and Robert, married to the former Cory Allwes, Mannassa, Va.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Brother of Mrs. Goldie Mae Day and Mrs. Viola Horner, both of St. Cloud, Fla. Member of former St. James Lutheran Church. Retired full colonel in U.S. Army Reserve. Veteran of Mexican Conflict and World Wars I and II. Retired supervising principal of Elders Ridge Joint High School, Indiana County and former vocational instructor in Bell Township, Westmoreland County. Member of Jenner Grange No. 1661. Graduate of Penn State University, received master's degree from University of Pittsburgh. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Friday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell. Body will be removed to St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Boswell, for viewing from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Donald Speigle assisted by son, Conrad Shaulis.
