She was born near Fairhope on September 4, 1880. Mrs. Shaulis was married twice. Her first husband was William Gaumer, who preceded her in death. Two of six children born to this union survive. They are Donald Gaumer, Conemaugh, and Eugene Gaumer, Berlin R.D. She also leaves her second husband, Edward H. Shaulis, and two children, Robert Shaulis, Philadelphia, and Virginia Shaulis, at home. Mrs. Shaulis was a sister of Charles Dermer, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Etta Markwood, Fairhope. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Shaulis home by Rev. Ira Goss, pastor of the Jennerstown Reformed Church. Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery under the direction of Joseph H. Hoffman, Boswell mortician. Meyersdale Republican, February 26, 1942
