Born Dec. 17, 1918, in Lincoln Township, a son of Ira Welsh and Emma Belle (Friedline) Shaulis. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Ethel M. Shaulis and Irene M. Swank; and brothers, Clark I. and Elwood R. Shaulis. Survived by wife, the former Ethel "Tess" Grace Sarver, to whom he was married 63 years; daughter, Mrs. Richard C. "Butch" (Iris) Will, Somerset; and sisters, Gladys F. Bittner, Somerset; Mrs. Ernest (Marion) Dunmyer, Somerset; and Mrs. Charles (Sarah) Matkoskey, Youngstown, Ohio. Member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, where he was a troop carrier. He worked until his retirement as a driver for PBS Coal. He was a life member of VFW Post 554. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev.
