Born Dec. 15, 1919, in Friedens. Son of the late Norman L. and Carrie (Dunmeyer) Shaulis. Preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Norman, and sister, Dolly Koontz. Survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Anna Louise Havener; three sons: Ray N. Shaulis of Somerset RD 5, James E. Shaulis of Dallastown and Ronald D. Shaulis of Glen Rock; three daughters: Lois A. Frisch of Stewartstown, Pa., and Bonnie L. Hare and Doris L. Shaulis, both of Glen Rock. Also 12 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. Brother of Homer H. Shaulis of Jerome, Minnie G. Daniels of Shrewsbury, and Marie C. Putman of Somerset. Employed as a machine operator for Caterpillar Inc. of York, retiring in 1983. Previously employed by AMP Inc. for 10 years. Also by U.S. Steel in the 1940s and the Johnstown Traction Co. Member of Beulah United Methodist Church, Friedens, but had attended the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Glen Rock. Member of Local 786 of the United Auto Workers. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Rev. Jacqueline Starz and Rev. Bernard Bookhammer officiating. Interment, Beulah church cemetery.
