Shaulis, 86, Somerset passed on Dec. 15, 2005, at Somerset Hospital. Born July 11, 1919, in Somerset, he is the son of the late Earl and Edna (Petrea) Shaulis. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Horner, and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha (Golembeski) Shaulis; son, Glenn Shaulis, Seattle, Wash.; daughters, Sandra Beam and husband Russell, and Eileen Crise and husband Jack, both of Somerset; grandchildren, Jeff Shaulis, Craig Shaulis, Vicki Galloway, Traci Alexander, Dale McKinley, Kristi Hixson, Russell Beam Jr., Brian Crise and wife Christine, Cindy Sechler and husband Mark, and Jennifer Gardner and husband Mark; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Shaulis, Somerset; and sisters Velma Hoffman and husband Kenneth, Jennerstown; and Norma Kathleen Ash, Somerset. He was the owner/operator of the Shaulis Volkswagon Garage in Bakersville for 25 years. He is a U.S. Army veteran in World War II who served in both the European and Asian theatres of operation. He was a member of the Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Bakersville and also was a life member of the VFW Post 554 in Somerset. He enjoyed fishing, growing roses, and animals. He loved to spend time with his family. Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. The Rev. Elisa Osman officiating.
