Shaulis, 88, Church of the Brethren Home, formerly of Windber, died March 7, 2006, at the home. Born Sept. 7, 1917, in Somerset County, son of the late Russell O. and Nancy (Weyand) Shaulis. Also preceded in death by wife, the former Alice M. Berkey; brother, Blaine; sister, Lila Oakman; and son-in-law, James Anderson. Survived by daughters, Phyllis Anderson, Windber; and Lois, wife of Dr. Gary L. Carney, Kingstree, S.C.; grandchildren, Patricia, wife of Jeffrey Smith, Windber; James, married to the former Deborah Zeller, Harrisburg; Melissa Carney and David Carney, both of Tulsa, Okla.; and three great-grandchildren. Brother of Leora Petet, Hollsopple; Jay, and wife, Ruth, Plano, Texas; and Norma, wife of Kenneth Coughenour, Somerset. Glenn was formerly a coal miner and then worked as a carpenter for many years. He was an avid motorcyclist, hunter and fisherman. Member of Pa. Fish and Game Commission for many years and Berkey Church of the Brethren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Meek Funeral Home Inc., Windber. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Berkey Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Earl Crissman, pastor, officiating. Interment Berkey Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Church of the Brethren Home in memory of Mr. Shaulis.
