  Harold Moses "Hal" Shaulis Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather and
  friend, 81, Somerset, died July 3, 2005, at his residence. Born Nov. 22, 1923
  in Stonycreek Township, a son of Mose Yoder and Amy Catherine (Landsman)
  Shaulis. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, the former Garnet
  Elinor Miller, to whom he was married 58 years; children, Harold M. Shaulis
  Jr., married to the former Carol Whisker, Stoystown, Mrs. Donnie (Susie)
  Branam, Somerset; grandchildren: Katie Harrison, Aaron Shaulis, Tanner, Chance
  and Elyse Branam and step granddaughter, Ronna Holliday. Brother of Elwood
  Shaulis, Whispering Pines, N.C. and Orville Shaulis and wife Delores, Holiday
  Park. Member of Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren and also attended
  Samuel's Lutheran Church. A 1941 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High
  School. U.S. Army Aircorp veteran of World War II where he was a master
  sergeant serving in the China-Burma-India Theatre. Also a member of NRA. He was
  a director at Laurel Ridge Sportsman's Association, where he served as secretary
  for 30 years. Also a member of the China-Burma-India Veterans Association. He
  loved bowling and his wonderful friends. His grandchildren he loved dearly and
  were a big part of his life. Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday.
