Born July 8, 1934, in Lincoln Township, he is the son of the late Lester and Mae (Baker) Shaulis. Also preceded in death by daughter, Ester Sue; brother, James; and stepmother, Bessie Cramer. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Jean (Shaulis) Shaulis; children, Douglas Allen and wife, Jeanine Kearns, Dingmans Ferry; Scott Ray and wife, Marlene Collins, Somerset; Jonathan Lynn and wife, Rosemarie Graham, Martinsburg; Joanna Lynne Kuhns and husband, Dana, Kingston; and Shawn Noel and wife, Pamela Kuncelman, Tipton; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. A member of the Beulah United Methodist Church and the Broone Mountain United Church of Christ. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, served as Justice of the Peace and township supervisor of Lincoln Township. He farmed for many years and retired from the Boy Scouts of America in 1997. Also a member of the Hickory Grange, Pennfield. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, and from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Monday in the funeral home. The Rev. William J. Dodson officiating. Interment in Beulah Cemetery.
