Shaulis, Stoystown, died Feb. 14, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Mildred was the daughter of Frank and Isabelle Fulton and was preceded in death by both parents and siblings, Ray Fulton, Elery Fulton, Emory (Sol) Fulton, William (Clair) Fulton and Ruth (Fern) Barnhart. Mildred was a devout member of the Stoystown United Church of Christ and served as a choir member, pastoral assistant, Sunday School teacher and pianist for 35 years. Mildred was a well-known local award-winning poet and belonged to the Somerset Arts Council and Johnstown Eastern Star. Known for her homemaking, and particularly delicious pies and jellies, her family and friends were always welcome into the Shaulis' warm and inviting home. Mildred and Roy, who celebrated 65 years of marriage in June 2006, shared many interests that included fishing, camping, square dancing with the Wheelers and Dealers, Lions Club events, travel and visits with friends and relatives. Mildred, a registered nurse, utilized her nursing skills through occasional private duty nursing for relatives and friends and raising her family. Mildred was the mother of Gloria Shaulis Kripowicz, wife of Robert S. Kripowicz, Frederick, Md. and David Fulton Shaulis, Grantsville, Md. Her three grandchildren are Warren Taylor Small, Sally Irene Shaulis and Stephanie Ann Rieve. Mildred had two great-grandchildren, Claudia Ann Rieve and Justin David Rieve. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. There will be additional viewing from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stoystown United Church of Christ. The Rev. John Emig officiating. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
