Shaulis, 70, Somerset Pike, Boswell, died suddenly April 2, 2006, at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born May 27, 1935, in Jenner Township. Son of Charles F. and Mary E. (Hutton) Shaulis. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Elwood; and sister, Dora Jean Shaulis. Survived by loving companion, Bev (Knupp) Buckham; daughter, Kimberly and companion, Fabian Ziraldo, New Windsor, Md.; stepchildren, Tammy (Buckham), married to Steven Miller, Boswell; and Troy Buckham, married to the former Karen Sopich, Boswell; grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob Shelton, and Lucas Ziraldo; great-grandson Tyler Shelton; and step grandchildren Orlo, Levi and Jami St. Clair, and Travis and Trevor Buckham. Brother of Harold W., Harrisburg; Ruth, married to Robert Ream, Somerset; and Roy G. and wife Marti, Boswell. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is an Army veteran of the Korean War. Former employee of Hidden Valley Four Seasons Resort. Self-employed mechanic, carpenter and bricklayer. Along with his brother, Roy, owned and operated Shaulis' Garage in Gaithersburg, Md. Member of the Jerome Nest No. 556, Polish Falcons, and Somerset Post 554 VFW. He enjoyed working on his trophy-winning 1929 Ford pick-up Model A. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and wood-worker. A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer officiating. Interment, Beam Cemetery. Graveside military rite by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
