Shaulis of York died at 6:35 a.m., April 27, 2004, at home. He was 79. Dr. Shaulis was born in Johnstown and raised in Somerset. He is the son of the late Homer G. and Lois (Phillippi) Shaulis. His preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia L. Shipley. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Little Shaulis; a daughter, Cheryl Shaulis, York; a son, Mark Shaulis, Bigfork, Mont.; and a brother, Homer C. Shaulis Jr., Boswell. He graduated from Somerset High School in 1943. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Army Air Force Band. He graduated from Juniata College in Huntingdon with a degree in chemistry, and Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Ill., in 1952. He met his wife Shirley Little while attending Northwestern and they set up a dental practice on West Market Street in York in 1952. After 47 years of practice, he retired in 1999. He was an honorary member of the York Hospital Dental Staff, a member of the York County Dental Society, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He was a former member of the University Club, Springettsbury Lions Club and the Harrisburg Ski Club. He was a member of Regents' Glen Country Club. Dr. Shaulis was an avid golfer, hunter, skier and a private pilot. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1111 E.
