Shaver, 99, formerly of Somerset, died Dec. 12, 1980, in Allegheny Lutheran Home, Johnstown. Born Nov. 27, 1881, in Somerset Township, near Friedens, she was a daughter of Charles I. and Emma (Mostoller) Shaver. Survived by a niece and nephew, Mrs. Roe E. Withrow, Miami Lakes, Fla., and Clyde E. Shaver, Houston, Texas. One nephew, Chester L. Shaver, preceded her in death Feb. 2, 1980. She is also survived by one great-niece and three great-nephews. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, served many years ago as the Deputy Register of Wills at the Somerset Courthouse, and was a former member of Forbes Road Chapter, DAR. She resided with her parents in Johnstown at the time of the 1889 flood and lived through the 1936 and 1977 floods. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor H. James Meyers officiating. Interment Union Cemetery. Daily American, December 13, 1980 [S1223]
