  Richard M. "Rit" Shaver, 90, Hooversville, went to be with the Lord Dec. 24,
  2005, at Laurel View Village. Born June 11, 1915, in Hooversville, son of John
  and Elsie (Gindlesperger) Shaver. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Merle;
  sister, Edna Hoover and grandson, Dean Shaver. Survived by his wife of 68 years,
  the former Thelma Boyer; children, Dean, married to the former Beverly Shaffer,
  Hooversville; Marylin, married to Robert L. Davis, Kerrville, Texas and Linda
  Berkebile, Ligonier; grandchildren: Lugene Sheets, Robert Davis, Kimberly
  Pickard, Heather Crowe and Ashley Berkebile and five great-grandchildren.
  Brother of Charles Shaver, Stoystown and William Shaver, Somerset. Also
  survived by close friends, Bob and Aldine Gorsuch, Hooversville. He retired
  from U.S. Steel, Johnstown with 35 years of service. Member of Hooversville
  United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday
  and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, 976 Barn St.,
  Hooversville. Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Hooversville U.M.
  Church. No viewing at the church. The Rev. James Hamilton officiating.
  Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. Memorial contributions may be given
  to Hooversville U.M. Church, Hooversville, PA 15936.
