Union St., West Chester, wife of Francis H. Shaw, died July 31, 1983 at her home after a long illness. She was born in Rockwood, daughter of the late George J. and Julia Kimmel Hay. She was a 1931 graduate of Penn State, majoring in home economics. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at Penn State. She then taught in the Johnstown and Somerset School systems. For the last few years, she was a volunteer at the Bring & Buy Shop in West Chester. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, West Chester. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Frederich H. of Littlestown; two daughters, Nancy Biehn of Lincoln University and Johanna Singer of Macon, Ga.; seven grandchildren; a brother, William K. Hay of Rockwood; and two sisters, Margaret H. Adams, of Fairport, N.Y. and Florence Hemminger of Westfield, N.J. Memorial services were held at the First Presbyterian Church, West Chester.
