Shaw, a retired contractor of Cleveland, O., died on Sunday, July 23. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 26. Interment was made in Knollwood Cemetery. Mrs. Shaw was a daughter of the late John L. and Zilpha (Jacobs) Michael. She was born at Westernport, Md., and resided there until her marriage. She lived for a number of years in Grantsville where her husband conducted a general merchandise store. They later moved to Salisbury, Pa., and since 1917 lived in Cleveland. Mrs. Shaw taught school in Deer Park and Oakland before her marriage, and had many relatives and friends in this vicinity. She was usually present at the annual Broadwater reunions. Long active in Methodist church work, Mrs. Shaw was a member of Wade Park Methodist Church in Cleveland. Surviving are her husband, to whom she was married 56 years, and four children: Mrs. Harriet Dunnavant of Warren, O.; Mrs. Mary Whittiesey, Cleveland; J. Edmund Shaw, Johnstown, Pa., and George L. Shaw, with whom she made her home at 2218 Jackson Boulevard, University Heights. One son, Jay Shaw, died some years ago. Meyersdale Republican, August 3, 1944
