Shawley, 77, of Mill Run RD 1, died Jan. 30, 1987 at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1910 in Springfield Township, son of the late Walter M. and Koziah (Miller) Shawley. He was a retired U.S. Postal Service rural mail carrier in Fayette County. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose in Connellsville, Mill Run Grange and Indian Creek Baptist Church at Mill Run. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Clyde (Loretta) Shipley of Somerset RD 1; and Mrs. Shirley Hillard of Pittsburgh; two sons: Edward W., in the Virgin Islands; and James E. of Mill Run; 15 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Helen Rumanchik of Mather, Pa.; and Mrs. Rosemary Basinger of New Castle. Preceded in death by a sister, Viola Rumanchik; and a brother, Virgil "Bud" Shawley. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Saturday (today) and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., on Route 711 at Melcroft, Pa. Additional arrangements will be announced when completed. SHAWLEY Funeral services for Edward L. Shawley, 77, of Mill Run RD 1, who died Jan. 30, 1987, will be held Monday (today) at 1 p.m. at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc. on Route 711 at Melcroft, Pa., the Rev. David Huey officiating.
