Shawley, 55, of Jones Mills, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1986 in Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe. He was born Oct. 7, 1931 in Champion, a son of the late Lawrence and Vera (Grimm) Shawley. He was a life long resident of the Champion and Jones Mills area. He worked as a lumberman-tree cutter for the Dan White Lumber Company. He was a member of the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department; the Koscuiszko Club in Mt. Pleasant and the Donegal American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Mildred P. (Henry) Shawley; a son, Phillip K. Shawley, Jr., of Somerset; five daughters: Mrs. Blair (Phyllis) Lyons and Mrs. David (Karen) Sager, both of Rockwood; Mrs. Edward (Goldie) Bazzar of Tarrs; Mrs. Marie Wilkins of Jones Mills and Charlene Shawley of Kecksburg; 13 grandchildren; seven brothers: William and Homer Shawley, both of Stahlstown; Irvin Shawley of Florida; Vernon Shawley of Philadelphia; Herbert Shawley of Jones Mills; Ralph Shawley of Stahlstown RD 1; and David Shawley of Melcroft; three sisters: Mrs. Andrew (Betty) Jordan and Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Over, both of Stahlstown RD 1; and Hilda Sleasman of Somerset. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Shawley; two grandchildren, Melinda K. Shawley and Rodney Allen Lyons; a sister, Almeda Tinkey and a brother, James Shawley. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev.
