Shawley, 85, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born March 7, 1920, in Jenners to John I. and Jane Ellen (Postgate) Shawley. He is preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Jean (Daniels) Shawley; and seven children, Linda (Joe) Sitko and Robert (Margie Barr) Shawley, both of Arizona; Judy (Gerald) Weigle, Friedens; Barbara Fitzpatrick, Betty McGinnis, John (Brenda) Shawley and Gary (Michelle) Shawley, all of Michigan, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grand-child. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, Jack Shawley, Coalport; Lester (Isabelle) Shawley of Michigan; and Arlene (Robert), Florida; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Shawley, Jenners. He was a coal miner until 1955, when he moved his family to Michigan and went to work for Ford Motor Co. He retired from Ford's in 1977 and moved to Phoenix around 1995. Robert Shawley was cremated and a family memorial service will be held March 7.
