Bernard "Bernie," 63, Johnstown, died June 5, 1982 at home. He was born Jan. 22, 1919 in Mount Pleasant, son of John and Mary (Vanyo) Shedlock. He was preceded in death by parents and brothers, Frank and Ernest. He is survived by widow, former Emma B. Ellenberger and daughters: Anne, wife of Kevin Schroyer, Mount Pleasant; Bernadette, wife of Jeffrey Hobbs, Meyersdale; and Monica, at home; also grandchildren, Kristie Schroyer and Jeffrey Hobbs Jr. He was a brother of John, Mount Pleasant and Benjamin, Pittsburgh. He was an inspector for Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Air Force veteran of World War II.; former staff announcer and member of news department of radio stations WDVI in Connellsville and WARD in Johnstown; lector and member of Men's Club; Altar and Rosary Society; Nocturnal Adoration Society and Menoher Post 155; VFW. Friends were received at William J. Moskal Funeral Home, Ohio Street and Highland Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial was held at Visitation Church, the Rev. Albert Bechtold.
