A former restaurant owner and area businessman, James Stephen Sheehe Sr., 73, of South Waverly Terrace, Cumberland, Md., died June 14, 1979 in the Cumberland Nursing Home. Born in Peale, Pa., he was a son of the late Thomas H. and Martha E. Haterall Sheehe. He was a graduate of St. Vincent's College, Latrobe, a retired salesman for Pillsbury Flour Mills and had been in the hotel-restaurant business in Cumberland, Grantsville, Md., and Oakland, Md. He was a charter member of the Grantsville Rotary Club; a member of United Commercial Travelers of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Frances R. (Lowry) Sheehe; one son, James S. Sheehe, LaVale, Md.; seven brothers: Thomas B. Sheehe and Paul J. Sheehe, both of Cumberland; Joseph Sheehe, Johnstown; John Sheehe, Altoona; Richard Sheehe, Indiana, Pa.; Louis Sheehe, Chardon, Ohio and Patrick Sheehe, Greensburg; three sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth Yandel, Roselyn Heights, N.Y.; Mrs. Kathryn Mahady, Latrobe; Mrs. Ann Sain, Laurel, Md.; and Mrs. Margaret Blaine, Long Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. Friends were received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home where services were conducted by the Rev. Gerald LaPorta. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery. The Republic, June 21, 1979 [S1267]
