  Basil Sheftic, 88, of Stoughton Lake, Jennerstown, died Aug. 16, 2001
  at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estate.  Born March 13, 1913 in Ralphton, son
  of Michael Sr. and Mary (Ristvey) Sheftic.  Preceded in death by
  parents, son Robert C., Jul 30, 1978, and infant sister, sisters Sue
  Vesek and Mary Skasko and brothers George, Michael Jr., Andrew Sr.,
  John and Nick.  Survived by wife 62 years, the former Anne Fitchko,
  son B. Vinson Sheftic married to Georgia Morocco, Stoystown RD,
  sister Anna Melnkovic, Windber, brother Stephen married to Grace
  Sunderly, Falls Church, Va., sisters-in-law Ann (Hudak) Sheftic,
  Somerset, and Sophie (Cebula) Sheftic, Jenners, and numerous nieces
  and nephews.  A 1932 graduate of the former Boswell High  School. 
  Employed for many years at the former Dull Mercantile Co. and also at
  the former Melleky Store, both in Jenners.  Partner with brother
  Andrew in the former Sheftic Brothers Store, Jenners.  Member of St.
  Mary's Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Jenners, and the Jenners Rod
  and Gun Club serving as auditor for both the church and the club for
  many years.  Honorary member of the Flood City Corvette Club. 
  Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 1 to 2:30
  p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where
  Parastas will be sung at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Panachida at 2:30 p.m.
  Saturday.  Funeral service at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, Rev.
  Father Sergei Alekseez officiating.  Interment, church cemetery.
