(Franke) (Sis) 01/04/07 Daily American Joan F. "Sis" (Franke) Sheftic, 80, Richland Township, Johnstown, died Jan. 3, 2007, at Regional Hospice at Windber. Born Jan. 29, 1926, in McKeesport, daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah E. (Phillips) Franke. Survived by husband of 50 years, Walter J. Sheftic; daughter, Beverly, married to Charles Charboneau, Saginaw, Mich.; grandchildren, Randy Charboneau and wife, Wendy and Kristin Charboneau; and great-grandchildren, Amanda, Amy and Adam, all of Michigan. Sister of William G. and wife, Gertude, Litchfield, Ill.; Rosalie, married to William Miller and Annetta, married to Robert Henry, both of Denver, Colo.; Donald J., married to Ruth Lape, Bradenton, Fla.; and Andrea, widow of Marshall Policicchio, Boswell. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was a 1942 graduate of the former Boswell High School and also a graduate of Cambria-Rowe Business School. Retired employee of the former Berwin Coal Co., Windber, where she was the title research person. She also worked for the Bureau of Mines, U.S. Department of the Interior for a number of years. Member of Boswell Lodge 1780, Sons of Italy. She was a Richland Township resident for the past 50 years. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Deacon Jay Pyle officiating. Entombment Grandview Mausoleum, Johnstown. Memorials to the Regional Hospice at Windber, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15968, would be appreciated.
