Born Nov. 4, 1909 in Ralphton, son of Michael Sr. and Mary (Ristvey) Sheftic. Preceded in death by parents; infant sister; sisters, Sue Vesek and Mary Skasko; and brothers, George, Michael Jr. and Andrew. Survived by wife, the former Sophie Cebula; daughters, Dorothy, wife of Allan Shandor and Anita, both of Jenners; and grandchildren, Leslie, wife of John McCloughran, Grapevine, Texas; Jeffrey, married to Patricia Kozola, Upper St. Clair, Pittsburgh; and Cynthia Shandor, York. Brother of Basil, Stoughton Lake; Mick, Jenners; Anna Melnkovic, Windber; and Stephen, Church Falls, Va. Member of St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Jenners, Local 1742 UMWA and the Jenner Rod and Gun Club, where he was a former treasurer for many years. Retired employee of the former Island Creek Coal Co., Tire Hill, with approximately 47 years service. Observed 62nd wedding anniversary on June 17, 1997. Friends received from noon until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where Panachida will be sung at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Due to fire damage at St. Mary's Church, divine liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church, Jenners, the Rev. Father Leonty Durkit, celebrant.
