Born Jan. 19, 1920 in Ralphton, son of Michael Sr. and Mary (Ristvey) Sheftic. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Anna Melleky, Oct. 18, 1965; infant son; infant sister; sisters, Sue Vesek and Mary Skasko; and brothers, George, Michael Jr., Andrew and John. Survived by children, Amy, wife of Victor Smith, with whom he resided, and Jamie, married to Susan St. Clair, Burke, Va., and beloved granddaughters, Megan and Marta Smith. Brother of Basil, Stoughton Lake, Jennerstown; Anna Melnkovic, Windber; and Stephen, Falls Church, Va. Former member of St. Mary's Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Jenners. Member of the Jenner Rod and Gun Club, Boswell Post 461 American Legion, and the Somerset County Oldtimers Baseball Association. A 1938 graduate of the former Boswell High School. Air Force veteran of World War II. Former coal miner with approximately 30 years service, having retired as a foreman with Florence Mining Co., New Florence. Friends were received Sunday evening, and will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev.
