   Florence Victoria Shephard, 81, Friedens, died Oct. 14, 2008, at The Patriot, Somerset.
  Born Nov. 13, 1926, in Braddock, daughter of John and Victoria (Ostrowski) Plocik.
  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Donald Eugene Shephard, who died in 1975;
  brothers, Charles and Stanley Plocik; and sister, Clara Arbuckle. Survived by daughter,
  Mrs. Herbert J. (Victoria E.) McDowell, Somerset; grandchildren, Heather McDowell,
  Somerset; Mrs. Katy Albers and husband, Greg, Falls Church, Va.; Matthew McDowell and
  wife, Emily, Sellersburg, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of the
  former Bethel Lutheran Church in Braddock, she also enjoyed cooking and baking and was an
  avid gardener. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 10 a.m.
  Thursday. The Rev. Roger Forry officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at
