(Shaffer) Shetler, 92, Old Hickory, Tenn., formerly of Davidsville, passed from this life March 20, 2007, at McKendree Village Health Care Center, Hermitage, Tenn., where she had resided for the past four years. Born July 26, 1914, in Hooversville, a daughter of William L. and Elizabeth A. (Beltz) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 74 years, the Rev. Clayton W. Shetler on Nov. 23, 2005; an infant daughter; granddaughter, Tracy Mock; brothers, Warren Shaffer and Orlo "Bud" Shaffer; sisters, Miriam Clark, Edna Miller, Frieda McClemmons and Thelma Hetzer. Survived by children, Dean R. and wife Barbara, Sacramento, Calif.; Lois and husband, Donald Mock, Crestview, Fla.; Joseph and wife, Brenda, Old Hickory, Tenn.; grandchildren, David Shetler and wife, Marcia, New Paris, Ohio; Mark Shetler and wife, Melissa, Sacramento, Calif.; Scott Mock, Montgomery, Ala.; Douglas Mock and wife, Delsa, Pensacola, Fla.; Michelle and husband, Fred Flatt, Tupelo, Miss.; Michael Johnson and wife, Faith, Pontotoc, Miss.; and Melanie Adkins, Mount Juliet, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Megan Shetler and Matthew Shetler and wife, Killie; Hailee and Christopher Mock; Bryan and Jordan Flatt; Tamara, Brandon and Marissa Johnson; Michaela and Andrew Adkins; and Lauren and David Grove; sister-in-law, Ruth Shetler, Soap Hollow; brothers-in-law Dwight Shetler and wife, Gladys, Bedford; and Clarence Alwine, Belleville; several nieces, nephews and special friend Cathy Cowan, Hermitage, Tenn. Grace was a homemaker and was employed by the former Glosser Bros. Department Store, Johnstown, for 20 years. She enjoyed reciting poetry and singing hymns. Taught Sunday school and served in many other areas of the former Seanor Mennonite Church. After retirement, the Shetlers moved to Sarasota, Fla., where they lived for 20 years and helped found the Bethel Mennonite Church. In 1996, they moved to Old Hickory, Tenn., and resided with their son, Joseph and his wife, Brenda. While there, Grace was an active member of Victory Baptist Church, Mount Juliet, Tenn. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where a service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday. Grace's grandson, the Rev.
