SAMUEL A*. SHETLER

  Friends and relatives from five states attended the funeral of Bishop Samuel 
G*. Shetler of the Mennonite Church, who died at his home in Conemaugh Township, 
Tuesday, August 11, and was buried on August 14.  Members of the Mennonite 
ministry who attended the obsequies included: Rev. Lloyd A. Kniss, a missionary; 
Rev. Robert Dayton, Ridgeley, W.Va., and Rev. John L. Horst, Scottdale.  
Mourners from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and New York states were 
present to the number of several hundred.
  Bishop Shetler was aged 76 and was the author of several books on religious 
education.
