Maust last week received a telegram announcing the death of Mrs. Mary Shidler, of Goshen, Ind., a cousin of his who had notified him not long ago that she was in the last stages of tuberculosis. Mrs. Shidler was a daughter of the late Aaron and Elizabeth Livengood Kimmel, and was born near Berlin, but came to Salisbury when a little girl, with her widowed mother, about the year 1879, and grew to womanhood here. Later she married Rev. William Shidler, a native of Indiana, and a minister in the Church of the Brethren, who died at Bay St. Louis, Miss., within the last year, where the Shidler family resided at that time. Rev. Shidler's remains were shipped to Goshen, where they were interred, and his wife and children soon thereafter located at Goshen, where Mrs. Shidler contracted tuberculosis, which soon terminated in her death. Full details of her death and funeral had not yet been learned when this obituary notice was written, but the funeral took place last Sunday forenoon. Mrs. Shidler was a good wife and mother, and above all a good woman in every way. Two sons and one daughter are left to mourn her departure, the youngest child being 19 years old. She has many relatives and friends in and about Salisbury, who will be sorry to learn of her death. Meyersdale Republican, August 4, 1932
