  Mrs. Katherine E. Shields, 79, 510 Merchant Ave., Boswell, died Dec.
  20, 1985, at Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Oct. 9, 1906, in
  Jenner Township, Somerset County, daughter of Christ and Nellie
  (Lepley) Kennell.  Preceded in death by parents; two sisters, Velmeer
  and Genevieve Miller; seven brothers: Gaither, Ralph, Robert, Walter,
  Donald, Elwood and William.  Survived by husband, Carl C. "Jeff," and
  these children: Carl Jr., married to former Nellie Walker, Jerome;
  Evelyn, wife of Dean Reynolds, Boswell; Robert, married to former
  Euldean Reckner, Jerome; Nancy, wife of Carl Lamb, Boswell; Jack Sr.,
  married to former Janet Linko, Stoystown RD 1; Faye, widow of Cornell
  Donati, Somerset; Janice, wife of Ernest Tasin, Lehman Acres, Jerome;
  Donna, wife of Robert Dively, Latrobe RD 4; Marian, Boswell; Richard,
  Florida; Donald, married to former Carol Blough, Fredericksburg, Va.;
  Linda, widow of Richard Cook, Boswell; Edward and David, both at home;
  23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  A sister of Hazel
  Berkebile of Kantner and Gleenn of Florida.  Celebrated 63rd wedding
  anniversary Jan. 30, 1985.  Past member of former Silver Ray Rebekah
  Lodge, Boswell; and auxiliary to Boswell Post 461, American Legion. 
  Friends received 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at
  Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be
  held at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Chauncey J. Ickes officiating. 
  Interment, Horner-Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
