(MICK) September 21, 1940 - February 12, 2004 Donald W. Mick Shipley, 63, of Glencoe, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at Somerset Hospital. Born September 21, 1940, in Connellsville, he was the son of Charles and Mabel (Poorbaugh) Shipley. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Courtney Paige Robertson; brothers: Charles Jr., Richard Jack, and Frank Shipley; and a sister, Sara Jane Maust. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Nancy Leister; children: Tina, married to Dennis Pritts, Salem, W. Va.; Karen, married to Keith Cotter, Glencoe; D. Eric, Tampa, Fla.; Aimee, married to Doug Robertson, Meyersdale; April and fiance Bradley Barnes, Berlin; grandchildren: Alicia Rice, Nick, Erin and Dillon Cotter, Lindsey and Kyle Robertson, Zachary Broadwater and Madison Manges; a sister, Wilma Gail Eicher and a brother, James E. Shipley. He was a retired dairy farmer; member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and vice president of the Somerset County Farm Bureau; graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School, class of 1958; and enjoyed bluegrass music. Family received friends Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Ralph Landis officiating. Interment, Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
