  SHIPLEY
  
  Helen C. Shipley, 78, of Confluence, died April 20, 2002 at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Aug. 23, 1923 in Mill Run, daughter of the late
  William and Beulah (Joseph) Jacobs.  In addition to her parents, she
  was preceded in death by husband Merle W. Shipley; daughters Peggy
  Sue and Wanda Jean; son Charles Duane; three brothers and a sister. 
  Survived by these children: Merle E., Wilbert P., and Gladys B.
  Sanner, all of Confluence, Beverly A. Garlitz, Mill Run, Alda M.
  Peary, Confluence, Nina L. Phillippi, Markelton [sic], Ronald W. and
  Roger L., both of Confluence; 19 grandchildren, 23
  great-grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters.  Friends will be
  received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence,
  where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dr. Arthur J. Gotjen
  officiating.  Interment in Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery.  Family
  suggests memorial contributions to the Fair Oaks Church of God or the
  Somerset County Blind Association.
