She was born Jan. 17, 1902, in Somerset County, a daughter of the late Norman Bruce and Sarah Ellen (Gladwell) Poorbaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Shipley Sr., who died in 1976; two sons: Charles F. Jr. and Franklin H.; and one daughter; S. Jane (Shipley) Maust, six brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three sons: Richard W. (Jack) of Berlin; James E. of Butler; Donald W. of Glencoe; and one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Gail) Eicher of Washington, Pa.; 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also survived by one brother, Norman B. Poorbaugh of Hyndman. She was a member of the new [sic*] Hope United Church of Christ and the Berlin Area Senior Citizens. Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services were held with the Rev. William Moser officiating. Interment, Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
