She was in her 95th year, having been born Dec. 2, 1846. She was married to Isaiah Shipley in 1871, and was the mother of 10 children, 4 of whom preceded her in death. Her married life was spent at Johnson Chapel, but after the death of her husband she made her home with the above named son. She is survived by six children, five of whom are residents elsewhere and unable to attend the funeral. There are 23 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shipley was of a lovely disposition and well liked in the community. An old neighbor said of her, "She was lovely, liked and good." A lovely tribute from a loving neighbor. She was a member of the Catholic Church, her pastor, Rev. Father Miller of Meyersdale conducting the funeral services Sunday afternoon. She was interred in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery by the side of her husband who passed away some years ago. Charles Humbert was funeral director. Meyersdale Republican, November 14, 1940
