Shipley, 53, of 143 North Mechanic St., Cumberland, died at her home, Friday, April 7, 1972. She was the wife of Thomas Shipley, formerly of Meyersdale. Born in Pocahontas, Va., she was a daughter of Adolph R. and Edith (Ferguson) Schade. Mrs. Shipley was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Soroptimist Club of Cumberland and El Fidel Auxiliary. She had been engaged in the commercial laundry and dry-cleaning business in Cumberland for 25 years, operating the Snow White Laundry and Dry Cleaners, Inc. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two sons, David W. Skiles, Indianapolis, Ind.; and Jeffery T. Shipley, at home; one grandson; two brothers, Richard A. Schade, Bedford; and Robert L. Schade, Cumberland; and three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Perkins and Mrs. Gracine Golden, Cumberland; and Mrs. Wilda Brooks, Jessup, Md. Funeral service was conducted Sunday afternoon in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cumberland, with Rev. Richard T. Manning officiating.
