He was born at Ohiopyle and was the son of the late Kimmel and Eliza Shipley. Mr. Shipley spent about 40 years in Ohiopyle then moved to Connellsville and finally to Confluence. He was an employee of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad and had been on the sick list since 1934. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Amanda Shipley; four children by a previous marriage, Harold and Edward Shipley of Ruffsdale; Mildred Shipley of Niles, Ohio, and Ruth Shipley of Lock No. 4; a stepson, William Neargard, Connellsville. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were conducted in the Ohiopyle Methodist Church Friday afternoon with the Rev. Henry Breakiron in charge. Interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, February 19, 1942
