Shippey, janitor of the Boynton school, who suffered a heart attack while at his work on Monday, February 10th, died at his home at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 17th, of cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Shippey had been a coal miner all his life, and retired about 2 years ago, acting as a janitor since that time. He was born in Bedford County, on February 16, 1874, son of Peter and Nettie (Fleigle) Shippey, and was aged 73 years and 1 day, at his passing. Besides his wife, Mrs. Minnie (Deffinbaugh) Shippey, he is survived by one son, William H. Shippey, of Ringgold, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret O'Glime of Friedens R.D., Pa., and Mrs. Minnie Critchfield of Boynton; three brothers, Oscar of Everett, Benjamin of Connellsville, and Ross of New Buena Vista, Pa.; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at his home at 2:00 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon, Rev. Ira S. Monn officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas.
