   Orphabel Shirey, 90, Somerset, formerly of Jennerstown, died April 20, 2007, at The
  Patriot. Born June 10, 1916, in Lincoln Township, a daughter of George and Catherine
  (Coleman) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, E. Merle Shirey; and brother,
  Fred. C. Shaffer. Survived by these children, Yvonne S., married to William E. Thomas,
  Hagerstown, Md. and Edward Shirey, North Versailles. Also survived by grandchildren,
  Scott F., Hagerstown, Md., and Matthew D., married to the former Monica Owens, Colorado
  Springs, Colo.; and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Shannon. Member of Hoffman Evangelical
  Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Co. Women's Auxiliary.
  Family is receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the George E. Mason
  Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville, and from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Tuesday
  at the Hoffman Evangelical Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kathleen A. Kuehl officiating.
  Interment, Hoffman Evangelical Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
