Shober, 80, Garrett RD 1, died Feb. 24, 1977 in Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born October 10, 1896 in Brothersvalley Township, the son of the late James Madison and Ada (Coleman) Shober. Preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, survived by his wife, the former Alma Brant, daughter, Mrs. William R. (Doris) Drobnich, New Enterprise; also two grandchildren. He was a brother of Mrs. Iva Jeffery, Vineland, N. J.; Mrs. Etta Kendall, Garrett; Mrs. Walter (Etha) Landefeld, Garrett; Mrs. Marie Taylor, Akron, Ohio; Drummond and Mrs. Mildred Mankamyer, both of Vineland, N.J. He was a member of the Beechdale Church of the Brethren, past master and active member of the Meyersdale Masonic Lodge 554, the Altoona Shrine, and the IOOF Lodge 461, Berlin. Friends will be received in the Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin after 7 p.m. today, Friday, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. William N. Hay and the Rev. Ralph E. Mills officiating. Interment, Beechdale Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Friday by the Meyersdale Masonic Lodge. Daily American, February 25, 1977 [S1406]
