Shockey, 79, Meyersdale RD 4, died May 9, in the Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Aug. 9, 1908 in Larimar [sic] Twp., a daughter of the late Ezra and Martha (Lowery) Geiger. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Irvin, John, Harvey and Walter. She is survived by her husband, Marling I., and these children: Paul R., Mt. Lake Park, Md.; Betty Lou, wife of Karl Miller, Glencoe RD 1; Carole M. Thomassy, Jeanette; also five grandchildren: Stephen and Gregory Shockey, both of Oakland, Md.; Sue Shockey Bone, Virginia Beach, Va.; Darlene Miller Duffy, Pittsburgh; Michele Miller, San Jose, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Grace Brethern [sic] Church, Meyersdale, a member of the Pearls of Wisdom, and the Willing Workers Sewing Club. Friends will be received at the Leckemby Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. She will be taken to the Grace Brethern [sic] Church Thursday, to lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of the service, with the Rev. Shimer Darr officiating. Interment White Oak Lutheran Cemetery. An expression of sympathy may be made to the Grace Brethern [sic] Church, or your favorite charity, in her name.
