Born Feb. 25, 1913, in Somerset, daughter of late William Franklin and Carrie Mae (Sayler) Lafferty. Preceded in death by husband, Harry Miller Shockey, who died Nov. 11, 1973; and son, W. Frederick Shockey. Survived by these children: Mrs. James E. (Hester) Hemminger, Glen Rock, Pa.; Mrs. Fred J. (Nancy) Boucher, Rockwood RD 3; Mrs. Donald J. (Ethel) Horner, Tionesta RD 1, Pa.; and John A., Somerset RD 6; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, where she was an adult Sunday School teacher and member of G.M.E.S. Member of Samuel's Corner Homemakers, volunteer for American Cancer Society and delivered Meals on Wheels. Friends received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Pastor Ray Burnside officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Family suggests contributions to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or to Renal Dialysis Unit of Mercy Hospital, Johnstown.
