She was born Feb. 22, 1876, in Somerset County, a daughter of Jacob and Catherine (Baer) Miller. Her husband, Levi Shockey, died in 1912. Surviving are 11 children- Mrs. Edward C. Flick, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. John Vought, Somerset R.D. 1; William and Vernon Shockey, both of Friedens R.D. 1; Mrs. Charles Vought, Rockwood; Mrs. James Tipton, Somerset R.D. 3; Mrs. Harry Schrock, Rockwood R.D.; Harry Shockey, Somerset R.D. 4; Orville Shockey, Friedens R.D. 2; Mrs. Theodore Livengood, Jennerstown, and Mrs. Ernest Peek, Rockwood R.D. 1. She was a sister of Harvey Miller, Wilson Miller and Mrs. Sarah Paul, all of Greenville Twp., Milton T. Miller, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Minerva Hostetler, Ames, Iowa. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 18, at her late residence. Rev. John D. Ickes officiating. Burial was made in Greenville Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, February 20, 1947
