Shockey, 97, Woodstock, Va., formerly of Stoystown, died April 24, 1993, at home of daughter. Born Feb. 18, 1896, in Kimmelton, daughter of Herman and Mary Jane (Spangler) Custer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Eli "Nick" Sr.; seven brothers and one sister. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Einstein, Woodstock, Va., and son, E. H. Shockey Jr., Union Springs, N.Y.; also 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Along with husband, former owner of Shockey Clover Farm store, Stoystown. Also former teacher and homemaker. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown, and Daughters of America. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from noon until service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, the Rev. Walter L. Startzel. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
