Shockey, 82, Meyersdale RD 4, died suddenly April 2, 1989, in Bridgeville, Pa. Born March 11, 1908, in Greenville Township, son of the late Irvin and Annie (Arklie) Shockey. Preceded in death by wife, Alice M. Geiger, 1988; also two brothers and two sisters: Ray E. and Robert W.; Mary Louise and Eleanor. Survived by these children: Paul R., Mountain Lake Park, Md.; Betty Lou, wife of Karl Miller, Glencoe, RD 1; and Carole M. Thomassy, Jeannette; also five grandchildren: Stephen Shockey, Baltimore, Md.; Gregory Shockey, Oakland, Md.; Sue (Shockey) Bone, Virginia Beach, Va.; Darlene (Miller) Duffy, Pittsburgh; and Michele Miller, Hilton Hill, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, also a brother, the Rev. Dr. Ralph I. Shockey, Morristown, N.J. Member of Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church. Retired Pa. Turnpike employee, worked for Altman Company, Somerset and Meyersdale. Former member of Meyersdale school board and former committeeman for the Republican Party, Greenville Township. Friends will be received on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Leckemby Funeral Home. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Brethren Church with the Rev. Shimer Darr and the Rev. Dr. Ralph I. Shockey officiating. Interment at White Oak Lutheran Cemetery.
