RALPH SHOCKEY July 15, 1915 - June 14, 2001 The Rev. Ralph I. Shockey, 85, Moorestown, N.J., died June 14, 2001. He was born July 15, 1915, in Meyersdale. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Shockey Pulliam. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy A. Dietle Shockey; a son, David; a daughter, Bonnie; and three grandchildren. He graduated from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, which later awarded him an honorary doctorate of divinity. He received his bachelor's of divinity degree from Gettysburg Theological Seminary and a master's degree of sacred theology from Mount Airy Lutheran Theological Seminar in Philadelphia. As a Lutheran clergyman, he was pastor of the First Lutheran Church of Windber, then St. John's Lutheran Church in Westville before serving at the Lutheran Home of Moorestown. He was a past president of the Moorestown Rotary Club, New Jersey Homes for the Aged, the Lutheran Ministerial Association of Camden, N.J., and the Westville (N.J.) Ministerial Association. He was the founder of the Moorestown Historical Society. Funeral services were held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Interment, Greenville Lutheran Cemetery.
