Shockey Jr., 89, of Somerset, formerly of Altoona and Berlin, died March 21, 2002 at Somerset Hospital. Born July 21, 1912 in Masontown, W. Va., the son of William E. Sr. and Gertrude (Speicher) Shockey. Preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph and a sister Mary Louise Shaffer. Survived by two sisters, Margaret E. Beal, Somerset, and Josephine Ross, Baltimore; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Betty Shockey, Aliquippa. He was a graduate of the former Berlin Brothersvalley Joint High School, class of 1931. Retired plant manager for Linde Air Products Corp. of Juniata. Member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren. An avid artist and member of the Artist Association of Pittsburgh. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Gerald E. Deffenbaugh and Rev. Ralph G. Landis officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
