James N., son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Shoemaker, of Garrett, died on Thursday evening from diphtheria. He suffered for about 7 weeks from the onset of the disease until the angel of death saw fit to relieve him. He was the pride and joy of his parents as well as of the many people who knew him. He was always kind and affectionate to his playmates and friendly to all with whom he came in contact. The little one was aged three years and nine months. Funeral services were held in the Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock by Rev. W. H. B. Carney. There survive him, his parents and one sister. Interment was made in the cemetery at Fritz's Church. Tressler and Walker, of Meyersdale were the undertakers. Meyersdale Commercial, July 1, 1915
