Shoemaker, 74, Sand Patch, died at the Community Hospital, Somerset, Sunday, Mar. 28, at 8 p.m., death was due to infirmities of age. Mr. Shoemaker had been living alone in a shanty, Sand Patch, R.D. 1, and was being given assistance by the county commissioners. He was admitted to the hospital March 24. He is survived by a half brother, Harrison H. Beal of Ligonier. Funeral services in charge of W. C. Price, Mortician, were conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 at the White Oak Reformed Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 1, 1943
